BASÍLICA DE NTRA. SEÑORA DEL PINO ( OUR LADY OF THE PINE BASILICA ) The original chapel of the patron saint of the Canaries dates from the beginning of the 16th century and was built on the very spot where Our Lady was said to have appeared to a group of locals. Two other places of worship were later built successively on the same site to replace the previous ones which, for one reason or another, had fallen into disrepair.
Finally, the present basilica was built, a wonderful example of neoclassical architecture, with a Gothic tower from the beginning of the 18th century preserved from one of the earlier constructions. A carving of the Virgin, just short of one metre high, is from the 15th century and comes from the Andalusian school. There are also various works by Luján Pérez and other artists.

 Well worth the time spent is a stroll through the streets of the town of Teror . In an air of peace and tranquility you can admire the old buildings with their superb balconies and around one corner after another you will discover the most delightful Squares.
Every Sunday in and around the most important Square - la Plaza del Pino - hundred of stalls are set up that sell the most surprising things, from food to household and religious ornaments and from clothes to all types of handicraft ( mercado del Domingo ).
LOS PATRONES DE LA VIRGEN MUSEUM : An old Canarian house where the throne of the Virgin is kept along with many articles of furniture and numerous religious objects.
CASA DE LA CULTURA , with a library and exhibition room.
DEL CISTER MONASTERY , a convent of cloistered nuns ( who happen to make the most delicious sweets ) which is well worth a visit.
FINCA DE OSORIO , an estate of great botanic value .
